The tiny town of Bradford sits in Darke and Miami counties in Ohio. Bradford does not boast alot of amenities and seems kind of run down. The other puzzling thing about Bradford is its location. It is not at the intersection of state route 118 and US 36 but rather about a mile north. Bradford used to be a very important railroad town, in fact Bradford High Schools nickname is the Railroaders. At Bradford the former Panhandle Route split with one part going to Chicago and the other half south towards Indy. This track which has been said to have been the busiest railroad in the world during WWII was gone by 1985. At the important split in the tracks sits BF Tower, constructed around 1929 by the Pennsylvania Railroad. It was placed out of service on January 3, 1984. Today it is preserved as part of the Bradford Railroad Museum.
